The massive home first hit the market in June 2017 for $32.5 million
The Upper East Side townhouse that late philanthropist and banking magnate David Rockefeller and his wife Peggy called home for 69 years has managed to find a buyer.
The Real Deal reports that the 40-foot wide townhouse, located at 146 East 65th Street, is now under contract. The home first hit the market in June 2017 with a $32.5 million price tag but received a $5.5 million price chop around October, bringing the price down to $27 million.
The eight-bedroom abode dates back to 1924 and while its an impressive space, the interiors could use an upgrade. Nevertheless, the roughly 9,700 square feet home has a decent set of luxury finishes that include a stunning spiral staircase, a large skylight, more than eight bathrooms, eight fireplaces, a formal dining room, six staff rooms, a temperature-controlled wine room, and 3,000 square feet of outdoor space.
It is unclear at this time what the home actually sold for but we’ll be sure to update once that information becomes available.
